We travel about an hour of the Maple Grove/Plymouth area.

Bella has had a lifelong passion for horses, beginning at a young age. She started riding at age 11 on a family friend’s horse, though her riding was temporarily paused when the horse was injured. Two years ago, Bella reconnected with the equine world, taking lessons before purchasing her first horse, Callie. Through horse ownership, Callie taught Bella invaluable lessons about responsibility, horsemanship, and the importance of prioritizing the horse’s well-being over competition. Despite facing challenging hardships, Bella ultimately found her place at her current ranch, where she continued to expand her knowledge. There, she gained deeper insight into equine health issues and the realities of slaughter pipelines, further solidifying her passion and commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of horses.

Callie, a 17-year-old off-the-track Thoroughbred with an extensive and demanding history. After a racing career, she went on to become a broodmare to seven foals before eventually arriving at a rescue, where she and Bella first met. Although their connection was not immediate, Callie ultimately came home with Bella. Despite being advertised as a trail horse, Bella’s former trainer encouraged her to jump Callie. After relocating to a new farm, Bella trusted her intuition and requested a veterinary evaluation, sensing that something was not right. The examination revealed severe kissing spine, chips in her hocks, widespread arthritis, a potential neurological component, and chronic ulcers.
Despite a lifetime of physical strain and hardship, Callie remained exceptionally sweet and affectionate, responding positively to equine massage and supportive care. However, even with a comprehensive management plan that included massage therapy, medication, and veterinary oversight, her condition continued to decline. After careful consideration, Bella, her trainer, and her veterinarian made the compassionate decision to humanely euthanize her. Callie was laid to rest on October 10, 2025, leaving behind a lasting legacy that continues to inspire Bella’s dedication to equine welfare.
